(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A 16-year-old student from Lambton Shores is facing a number of criminal charges after he resisted arrest yesterday in Exeter.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers attended South Huron District High School in Exeter after learning a student had been failing to comply with conditions of an earlier court release.
Upon arrival at the school officers met with the student in the front office and upon informing him that he was being placed under arrest the situation took an unexpected turn. Officers attempted to arrest the male however he physically resisted arrest and struggled with the officers. Officers eventually utilized a conducted energy weapon and were able to take the male into custody.
The young male was later transported to bail court in Goderich where he was released with an upcoming court date this June. He is now facing charges of Resist Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Probation (2 counts), Fail to Comply with Sentence Order (2 counts) and Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
