(HURON EAST, ON) - A 27-year-old from Seaforth remains in custody on Possession of Stolen Property charges following an investigation by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers.
Shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 Huron OPP officers responded to a vehicle theft occurrence in the Town of Seaforth. Investigators learned the victim had left his sports utility vehicle unlocked and with the keys in it overnight at a Birch Street property.
As a result of some tips from the public, investigators were able to locate the stolen vehicle in an alley way behind the Seaforth Town Hall. Further, investigators developed a suspect in the case and later that day officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. Upon his arrest he was found to be in possession of property that belonged to the sports utility vehicle owner.
Matthew BOUVIER, 27 years of age, from Seaforth has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 29, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
