(KINCARDINE, ON) - Just before 2:00 a.m. on April 27, 2019 members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Highway 21 in Kincardine, Ontario.
A citizen called 911 and reported a vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 21 and suspected the driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol.
When officers arrived on scene they located a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Highway 21 and observed the driver showing signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.
The male driver, Michael MEHARG, a 53-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, has been charged with:
Operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs - S. 320.14(1)(a) CC
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus - S. 320.14(1)(b) CC
The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton, on May 15, 2019 to answer to the charges.
