(WEST PERTH, ON) - A member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Perth detachment responded to a traffic complaint involving a farm truck and livestock trailer being driven erratically with an insecure load shortly after 3:30 p.m. on April 29, 2019, north of Brodhagen in the Municipality of West Perth.
Through investigation, Police determined that the load was insecure and the trailer did not have proper licencing.
Mark DEKROON, 30-years-old, of Municipality of Huron East was charged the following;
Driving with Insecure load
Draw trailer behind a vehicle, no licence plate
The driver is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on June 11, 2019 to speak to the charges.
Police are reminding motorists that a trailer is considered a separate vehicle. Before you can tow one on any public road, you must register it and attach the licence plate to the back of the trailer where it is clearly visible. The trailer must be in safe operating condition. If it is not, it may be removed from the road until it is made safe to operate.
