(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On Friday May 3, 2019 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on the Elora Street North in Harriston. At approximately 10:45 p.m. the driver of a white sedan entered the R.I.D.E. check.
While speaking with the male driver, officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.
As a result, Ronald E. DREWERY, 67-year-old of Clifford has been charged with Impaired Operation - 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on June 4, 2019.
