(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - A male driver is facing a charge of Refuse to Provide Breath Sample following a traffic stop that occurred on May 29, 2019 in Arran-Elderslie.
Just after 8:00 p.m. on May 29, 2019 a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling on Bruce Road 3 at a high rate of speed. A South Bruce OPP officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol.
Robert DAVIES, 40-years-old from Chatsworth, Ontario, was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests. The accused refused to provide a breath sample at the detachment and was subsequently charged with Refuse to Provide Breath Sample.
He has since been released from court with a court appearance scheduled for June 26, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton. His driver's licence was suspended for an automatic 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
