(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 32-year-old from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh in connection with a Break, Enter and Theft that took place in Clinton this past May.
Just after 7:00 a.m. on May 22, 2019 Huron OPP officers responded to a call of a possible break and enter in progress at a commercial property located on Albert Street in Clinton. Within a minute an officer was on scene where he located the front door of the business smashed in and an open cash register.
A search of the building was conducted however the suspect had fled the business. Upon reviewing the store video surveillance cameras investigators were able to positively identify the suspect. He was located later that day and was taken into custody without incident.
David HELSDON, 32 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Break, Enter - Commit Indictable Offence, Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.
He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 15, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
