(LISTOWEL, ON) - On June 10, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Perth detachment was on general patrol when the officer noticed a pickup parked on the side of the road. A check of the vehicle showed that the driver from prohibited from driving. A traffic stop was conducted by the officer.
While the officer was speaking with the male driver, it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. He failed a road side test and was arrested and transported to the Listowel OPP detachment for further testing.
Michael TRUAX, 33-years-old, of the Municipality of North Perth was arrested and charged with;
Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
His driver's licence was seized and a 90 Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) was imposed. The vehicle was towed and impounded.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on June 24, 2019 to answer the charges.
