(DUBLIN, ON) - On June 7, 2019 at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Perth Road 180, north of Dublin. A driver entered the RIDE checkpoint and narrowly missed striking an officer.
Officers were able to get the driver to stop a short distance away.
Mohammed Danish KHAN, 20-years-old, of Hamilton was charged an issued a Provincial Offence Notice for the offence of;
Fail to slow down and proceed with caution for emergency vehicle
Police, fire, ambulance and tow truck personnel are often required to do their work on the shoulders of busy highways. For safety reasons, the law requires all drivers to slow down and proceed with caution when approaching and passing a stopped emergency vehicle with its lights activated.
