(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On June 7, 2019, at approximately 2:45 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call reporting a dangerous condition on the Hanlon Expressway in Guelph. Initial reports indicated that an operator of a sedan was report of a sedan travelling south in the north bound lanes with no headlights on.
OPP responded and stopped the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Michael J. McINTOSH, 50-years-old of Fergus has been charged with Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation - 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood). A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 12, 2019.
