(GODERICH, ON) - A 63-year-old from London is facing a charge of Operate Motor Vehicle While Impaired - Over 80 following a traffic stop that took place in Goderich last week.
Just before midnight on Monday, June 10, 2019 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a pickup truck travelling northbound on Bayfield Road without any tail lights activated.
A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking with the driver, the officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a fail. As a result he was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation - Over 80 and was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both of his samples provided to the Intoxilizer Technician were over the legal limit.
John HESCH, 63 years of age, from London has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for July 8, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
