(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) - A 24-year-old driver from Morris-Turnberry will be making a trip to Provincial Court following a traffic stop that took place last week northeast of Wingham.
On Sunday, June 9, 2019 at approximately 3:06 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR patrols on Howick-Turnberry Road near Kieffer Line when a sports car was observed travelling westbound at a high rate of speed. The officer activated the RADAR device and measured the speed of the target vehicle at a rate in excess of 50 km/h over the 80 km/h posted speed limit.
A traffic stop ensued and the driver was subsequently charged. The driver, 24-year-old Steve WALKER from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Racing. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich on July 23, 2019 to answer to the charge. His driver's licence was automatically suspended for seven days and his vehicle was also impounded for a week.
