(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On June 24, 2109 at 9:26 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called for a physical altercation at an address at Highway 6, Northern Bruce Peninsula. OPP officers attended the scene and found a male in an agitated state and would not cooperative with police. The male was arrested and during the investigation police formed reasonable and probable grounds that the arrested male had assaulted a second person at the scene.
As a result of the arrest police conducted a search and located over 65 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia.
Grey Bruce OPP have charged 22 year old, Justin REID of Northern Bruce Peninsula with the following charges:
Assault, section 266 Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine, section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking, section 5(2) CDSA
Fail to Comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) CC
The accused has been remanded into custody and will be before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 26, 2019.
