(MITCHELL, ON) - A driver with outstanding warrants was arrested in the Municipality of West Perth.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on July 2, 2019, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth detachment, observed a motor vehicle travelling on Perth Line 34 east of Mitchell. The vehicle was determined to be travelling at a rate of speed that exceeded the posted speed limit and was stopped by police.
The OPP investigation revealed the pickup the male driver was operating had been reported stolen from the City of London. The driver was arrested and charged.
Craig SOMERVILLE, 31-years-old, of Stratford was charged with the following offences;
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
3 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The driver was also issued several summons for infractions under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance act.
The driver is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on August 12, 2019 to answer the charges.
The driver had outstanding warrants with Waterloo Regional Police Service and was transported to Kitchener.
