(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On June 29, 2019, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a driving complaint on Highway 9 near Clifford. It was reported a driver of a grey sedan was passing unsafely.
Police located and stopped the suspect of the driving complaint and while speaking with the driver, formed the opinion that they were under the influence of alcohol. Police attempted to conduct a Roadside Screening test with the driver however they refused. Further investigation revealed that the driver was also prohibited from driving.
Charged is Mark Christopher DANGEL, 48-years-old of Burlington, with Failure to Comply with a Demand for Breath and with Operating a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.), a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment and a 45-day Vehicle Impoundment were initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - criminal court, Guelph, on July 30, 2019.
