(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A 23-year-old from Scarborough had to find another ride back home after his vehicle was impounded and his driver's licence was seized last week by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
On Friday, July 19, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was conducting stationary RADAR patrol on Dashwood Road at Parr Line when a hatchback was observed travelling westbound on Dashwood Road at a high rate of speed. The officer activated the RADAR device and measured the speed of the target vehicle at a rate in excess of 60 km/h over the 90 km/h posted speed limit.
A traffic stop ensued and the driver was subsequently charged. Nicholas OLM, a 23-year-old from Scarborough has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Perform a Stunt - Speeding by 50 km/h or more. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich on September 17, 2019 to answer to the charge. His driver's licence was automatically suspended for seven days and his vehicle was also impounded for a week.
