(HOWICK, ON) - A 42-year-old from Howick has been charged with Impaired Operation and Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on the Civic Day holiday.
On August 5, 2019 at approximately 1:25 a.m. Huron OPP officers received information that a driver may be driving while impaired by alcohol. Officers responded to the area and approximately 40 minutes later a Huron OPP officer spotted the suspect vehicle stopped south of Gorrie on Gough Road.
A traffic stop was initiated and upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer observed signs that the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. As a result, the driver was arrested for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both of his samples provided to the Intoxilizer Technician were found to be over the legal limit.
Jason BREWER, 42 years of age, from Howick has been charged with Impaired Operation & Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for September 16, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
