(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - An upcoming court date, an immediate driver's licence suspension and a vehicle impoundment are just some of the penalties facing a 23-year-old driver from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
On Sunday, August 4, 2019 at approximately 7:36 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was travelling northbound on Highway 21 (Bluewater Veteran's Highway) when he spotted a sport utility vehicle travelling southbound at a high rate of speed. A speed measurement was taken with a RADAR device and the speed of the vehicle was confirmed to be in excess of 70 km/h over the posted speed 80 km/h speed limit.
The vehicle was subsequently stopped and the driver was charged. William CURRAN, 23 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh was charged with Racing. He will have to attend Provincial Offences Act court on September 3, 2019 to answer to the charge.
