(HURON EAST, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a St. Thomas resident with a number of charges following a traffic stop that took place in Seaforth last week.
Shortly before 9:00 a.m. on April 3, 2020 a Huron OPP officer stopped a cross-over utility vehicle on Main Street North in Seaforth. The officer spoke with the driver and learned the driver currently held a suspended driver's licence. As such the driver was placed under arrest and search was conducted.
The investigating officer located open alcohol inside the vehicle, as well, the driver was found to be in possession of a suspected opioid.
Megan BECKON, 35 years of age from St. Thomas has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid
Driving While Under Suspension
Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor
She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 24, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
