(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - A Huron East resident is facing criminal charges including a Possession of Methamphetamine charge following an incident that took place last week west of Holmesville.
On Monday, May 4, 2020 at approximately 7:48 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were requested to assist Huron County Paramedic Services with a report of an unconscious male laying in the ditch on Huron Road.
Prior to police arrival the suspect was awakened and was assessed by paramedics. It was determined the male was cycling on Huron Road and unwisely he decided to stop for a rest in the ditch.
The accused was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Additionally, officers learned the accused is currently serving a probation sentence.
As a result, Matthew BOUVIER, 28 years of age, from Huron East has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 13, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
