(SOUTH RIVER, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged three people after responding to a break and enter.
On March 18, 2024, shortly after 5:30 a.m., Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a break and enter into a building at the historical train station in the Village of South River on Montreal Avenue.
As a result of the investigation, multiple people were arrested and approximately 53 grams of suspected Fentanyl was seized. The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $21,000.
James CARTER, 33-years-old, of South River was charged with:
Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
Engage in prohibited activity on premises
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail Court in Parry Sound on March 18, 2024.
Vincent BEASELY, 34-years-old, and Steven CHREST, 36-years-old, both from South River were also charged with:
Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
Engage in prohibited activity on premises
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 25, 2024, in Sundridge, Ontario.
