(WASAGA BEACH, ON.) - On December 1, 2017 at approximately 11:00 p.m. members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a "911" call that advised that a pedestrian had been hit by a motor vehicle on Hwy 26 in Wasaga Beach, Ontario.
An initial OPP investigation revealed that a female exited a motor vehicle that was on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of Hwy 26 just west of the Mosley Street/Hwy 26 round-about.
This individual was walking along the shoulder of westbound Hwy 26 being followed by the above motor vehicle and for an unknown reason entered the traveled lanes and was struck by a westbound motor vehicle traveling in the lane closest to the centre medium.
Deceased is Emily ROSS, 23 years old from Port Elgin, Ontario.
The investigation into this fatal motor vehicle collision is ongoing with the assistance of OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Unit.
