(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On December 29, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault in progress at a restaurant on Smith Street in the Town of Arthur.
OPP attended and were advised by the victim that two men had been involved in a physical altercation at the restaurant. The younger of the two males was observed leaving the restaurant where he again met the older male. It appeared that they were going to fight again. The victim, who was sitting with several children, intervened and was assaulted by the younger male. These males are not known to the witnesses or victim. The victim did not require medical treatment.
The males left prior to police arrival in a silver/grey car with no marker obtained.
Witnesses advised the younger male to be in his mid to late 30's while the older male appeared to be in his late 40's or early 50's. It appears that both males are known to each other as they left in the same vehicle.
