(NORTH PERTH, ON) -An observant member of the public assisted the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) by reporting a suspected impaired driver shortly before 8:30 a.m., on March 1, 2018.
The motorist was travelling on Perth Line 86 in the Municipality of North Perth when he was stopped by a member of the Perth County OPP.
Fifty-three-year old Kevin CHAPMAN of the City of Kitchener was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired-Motor Vehicle
Driving With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood.
The motor vehicle was towed and impounded, and a driving suspension was imposed. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Impaired driving whether by alcohol or drugs poses a serious risk to public safety and will not be tolerated. Driving alternatives exist; take a taxi, walk, use a designated driver or remain at your location. It is never worth the risk.
