(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On March 31, 2018 at approximately 1:55 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an arson attempt at Harry Stone's Bar and Grill, Town of Harriston.
The complainant contacted OPP to advise that a suspect had tried to set the outdoor patio on fire. Employees saw the small fire and immediately extinguished it.
Shortly thereafter OPP received a report of a Break and Enter on Marklane Street, Town of Harriston. The complainant reported that they awoke to the fire alarm and discovered a couch on fire in the basement. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry through the basement window. The complainants attempted to extinguish it with water but eventually used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out.
Investigation has revealed that the two incidents may be linked.
