(HURON EAST, ON) - Just before midnight Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to a residence on Vanastra Road to assist an adult male.
Upon interaction with the male safety concerns arose for all involved parties. This resulted in police containing the residence and activating specialized units.
OPP Negotiators, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit assisted Huron County OPP throughout the call. The incident resolved peacefully around 5:30 a.m. when the involved male surrendered to police.
Police checked the well-being of the male and cleared the scene without incident.
Vanastra Road has since re-opened.
