(BANCROFT, ON) - During the week of the 23 April 2018 through to the 29 of April 2018, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to one hundred and three (103) calls for service.
These investigations included 911- Non-emergency calls, two (2) alarms, two (2) animal complaints, attempt or threat of suicide, break and enter, breach of probation, community services, two (2) dangerous conditions, two (2) domestic disputes, three (3) drug offences, four (4) family disputes, three (3) frauds, landlord tenant problem, mental health act, three (3) mischiefs, missing person, two (2) motor vehicles abandoned, municipal by law, phone calls, police assistance, police information, prevent breach of peace, property checks, property related, sudden death, suspicious vehicle, theft, five (5) threats, seven (7) traffic complaints, two (2) traffic hazards, trespass to property act, unwanted person, seven (7) weapons call and other related calls for service.
Seven (7) criminal charges were laid during the same period of time regarding the domestic threats, and drug offence investigations.
Officers also conducted R.I.D.E. programs throughout the detachment area to check on driver's sobriety.
Officers responded to eight (8) motor vehicle collisions (MVC) where three (3) were involved in striking deer.
During that same period, officers laid forty one (41) Provincial Offence Notices. Twenty four (24) related to speeding, fail to report accident, drive motor vehicle - No currently validated permit, follow too closely, no number plate showing permit number, Driver - No helmet, two (2) Drive - Hand-held communication Device, Drive motor vehicle no licence, fail to surrender valid insurance card and other Highway Traffic Act offences.
