The Brockton Heritage Committee is looking for a university or college student to fill the Heritage Research Assistant position for the summer (8 weeks, 30 hours per week) beginning June 18, 2018.
Duties include:
Assist Heritage Committee with developing a Heritage Register for 250 properties in Brockton
Assisting with research, preparing historical notes, uploading data to VITA website and cataloguing archives
Creating promotional material
Indexing local history
Cataloguing historical documents
Data entry
Filing and cataloguing at the Walkerton Public Library as required
Candidates must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to work independently, and have organizational and computer skills. An interest in historical research, library science, or political science would be an asset.
