(GREENSTONE, ON) - On May 2, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Geralton, Ontario residence.
The OPP Greenstone Detachment's Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) had been conducting an investigation into the trafficking of marihuana within the Municipality of Greenstone. As a result of this investigation, the CSCU, with assistance from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), and local Greenstone officers, safely executed the search warrant and seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and marihuana.
Travis O'GUSHING, age 28, of Geraldton, Ontario, has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Trafficking a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana, contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Jamie SHAWANAMASH, age 46, of Geraldton, Ontario, has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
O'GUSHING was held at the Greenstone OPP detachment for a video bail hearing on the morning of May 3, 2018, and will appear in court on May 17, 2018, at 10:00 am, in Geraldton, Ontario, to answer to the charges.
SHAWANAMASH will appear in court on June 21, 2018, at 10:00 am in Geraldton, Ontario, to answer to the charge.
