(BANCROFT, ON) - In the late evening on May 01, 2018 officers of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a traffic complaint on Monck Street in the Town of Bancroft. The anonymous complainant advised that he believed the driver of the motor vehicle that was being operated in front of his vehicle was driving erratically and believed that the driver could be impaired.
Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. As officers spoke with the driver they determined that he had been consuming alcohol and was subsequently placed under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, Bobby MACKEY, 35 years of Bancroft Ontario has been charged with:
Driving while ability impaired by alcohol and
Care or Control over 80 mgs.
The driver's vehicle was impounded for 7 days and he also received a driver's licence suspension for 90 days.
The accused was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on May 22, 2018 to answer to his charges.
