(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) - The keen observations of a member of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in criminal charges laid against two individuals.
The officer conducted a traffic stop shortly after 8:00 p.m. on May 1, 2018 after observing a male driver, believed to be suspended, operating a motor vehicle in the Town of Tillsonburg.
Through investigation, it was determined that the male driver, and a female occupant were in possession of a controlled substance and both parties were arrested at the scene.
Sixty-one-year old Robert ELLIOTT of Norfolk County was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine;
Possession of a controlled substance-cannabis marihuana;
Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid; and
Driving While Under Suspension.
He was later released on a recognizance.
Thirty-eight-year old Scarlet HELMER of Oxford County was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Possession of a controlled substance-cannabis marihuana;
Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid.
She remains in custody at this time.
