(HURON EAST, ON) - Members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment West Region Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Randy Wright of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are continuing with their investigation into the discovery of a female body found yesterday morning near Vanastra.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Laura WIGELSWORTH from Vanastra, Ontario.
Huron County OPP had commenced a missing person investigation after learning she had failed to return home from an evening walk on May 9, 2018. A few hours later her body was found, by a civilian, in close proximity to Front Road just north of Vanastra.
This death is considered suspicious in nature. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today to assist in determining the cause of death.
