(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) - On Wednesday May 9, 2018 at 9:16 pm officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 12 between Newton and Park Streets. Responding officers were assisted by members of the Tay Township Fire Service and Simcoe County Paramedic Service as the two occupants were located and assessed for their injuries at the scene. The OPP investigator entered into a drinking and driving investigation after speaking with the female driver who was then transported to Georgian Bay General Hospital for treatment of her injuries sustained in the crash.
As a result of the investigation the female driver Sheri Lynn DUNN, 51 years of Tay Township has been charged with the following offences;
Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol) contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Her vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 7 days and further her driver's license is suspended for 90 Days under the Administrative Driver's License Suspension (ADLS) and she was released on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on May 31, 2018.
