(CITY OF CAMBRDIGE, ON) - On May 12, 2018 at approximately 2:50 a.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was travelling on Townline Road in the City of Cambridge and observed a motor vehicle heading southbound travelling at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle collided into the centre median at a roundabout and continued on with two punctured tires.
Police stopped the vehicle, spoke with the driver and formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside test was administered which resulted in a Fail. He was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.
26-year-old Jeremiah Bell of Cambridge has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 5, 2018 to answer to the charge.
