(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On May 15, 2018 at approximately 3:15 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a report of a driver apparently passed out at the wheel on the Hanlon Expressway and Stone Road West, City of Guelph.
Police attended and woke the driver. While speaking with the driver, the officer formed the opinion that the he was impaired by drug. He was arrested and transported to a local detachment for testing.
26-year-old Oliver BETTS of Guelph has been charged with Care or Control while Impaired by Drug. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 12, 2018 to answer to the charge.
