(NORTH BAY, ON) - At approximately 11:15 p.m., on May 17, 2018, officers from the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint in the City of North Bay, Ontario. The caller advised that three males were travelling across the province and bragging on Snapchat about being on "bender".
Officers located the vehicle on the Bypass in North Bay, Ontario. The 21 year old driver, from Goderich, Ontario, was arrested at the scene after failing the roadside screening device. He was transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further breath tests. The driver was charged with the following:
Young driver's blood alcohol content above zero contrary to section 44.1(5) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA); and
Drive a motor vehicle with liquor readily available contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor License Act (LLA).
His driver's licence was suspended for 3 days and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
