(CHATHAM, ON) On May 20, 2018 around 3:45 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Bloomfield Road when they observed a westbound vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr.
The vehicle was stopped and while speaking with the driver, the officer discovered the driver was currently suspended from driving.
As a result, the male driver, Kashmir MUMTAZ, 33-years-old of Scarborough, Ontario was charged with the following:
driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act,
speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively monitoring the "Big 4" driving behaviours; impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage.
