During the week of May 14, 2018, to May 21, 2018 there were 154 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were eight motor vehicle collisions, two were animal related.
There were five domestic dispute calls for service, and four domestics resulting in criminal code charges.
Breach of Recognizance Charges
On Monday May 14, 2018 at approximately 1:53 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a breach of bail conditions at a residence in Bonnechere Valley. A 29 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley was arrested and charged with breaching his conditions of release by attending the residence, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Assault Charge
On Saturday May 19, 2018 at approximately 4:09 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a domestic assault call at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation a 48 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Tuesday June 19, 2018 at 9:00 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Assault and Dangerous Driving Charges
On Sunday, May 20, 2018 at approximately 9:04 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a domestic assault call in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richard's Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 46 yr. old male from Ottawa was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday June 13, 2018, at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Breach of Recognizance Warrant Sought
On Wednesday May 16, 2018 at approximately 7:43 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a breach of recognizance call at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Twp. As result of police investigation a warrant has been sought for a 32 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. for the offence of Breach of Recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code. The name has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Mischief Charge
On Sunday May 20, 2018 at approximately 11:53 am, Killaloe OPP responded to a call of mischief to property at a residence in Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation a 19 yr. old male from Hastings Highlands was arrested and charged with Domestic Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 9;30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Careless Driving Charge in Collision
On Friday May 18, 2018 at approximately 6:32 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Jesse Kisters responded to a single vehicle collision on Kokomis Inamo, Golden Lake Ontario. The driver of a passenger car had rolled the vehicle into the ditch. As a result of police investigation a 38 yr. old female driver from Eganville has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed.
Theft
On Monday May 14, 2018 at approximately 6:55 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ian Morin responded to a theft call on Beechnut Lake Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. Tools and gasoline were stolen from a logging property. This incident remains under investigation.
Fraud
On Tuesday May 15, 2018 at approximately 12:54 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Dan Olejarski responded to a fraud call on Highway 60, Madawaska Valley Twp. The complainant responded to an ad to purchase a puppy on Facebook and E-transferred monies to an account. The ad posted was an online scam and reported to police. Police remind the community to always confirm the source and ensure that your transactions are legitimate prior to sending any monies.
