(NAPANEE, ON) - During an unrelated investigation officers, with the Napanee Crime unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) gathered information that Rhonda and Joseph PICKSTOCK were involved in fraudulent activity. A subsequent investigation revealed that they were defrauding an elderly man of monies by issuing non-sufficient fund (NSF) cheques, making and issuing fictitious invoices to obtain money from the same victim over a period of 4 1/2 years. They were jointly charged as follows:
On June 14, 2018, Napanee OPP arrested and charged a 39-year-old female, Rhonda PICKSTOCK of Greater Napanee:
Fraud over 5000 as per section 380(1)(a)of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC);
Obtaining by false Pretence Over 5000 as per s. 362(1)(a) of the CC;
Use, Deals Acts on forged Document as per s. 368(1)(a) of the CC; and with
Make Forged document as per s. 367 of the CC.
Rhonda PICKSTOCK was released on a Promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on July 5, 2018
ON June 15, 2018 Napanee OPP arrested and charged a 40-year- old- Joseph PICKSTOCK of Greater Napanee with
Fraud over 5000 as per section 380(1)(a)of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC);
Obtaining by false Pretence Over 5000 as per s. 362(1)(a) of the CC;
Use, Deals Acts on forged Document as per s. 368(1)(a) of the CC; and with
Make Forged document as per s. 367 of the CC.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on June 16, 2018
