(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A 20-year-old novice driver from Cambridge will have some explaining to do following a traffic stop that took place this past Monday night.
At approximately 10:25 p.m. on July 2, 2018 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a sedan travelling eastbound on Dashwood Road near Parr Line at an extremely high rate of speed. A RADAR device was used by the officer to confirm the speed of the vehicle. The vehicle was found to be travelling at a speed nearly double the 90 km/h posted speed limit.
The speeding vehicle was stopped and the officer spoke with the male driver. Malaz HAMADEH, 20 years of age from Cambridge was charged with Racing. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich on August 21, 2018 to answer to his charge. His licence has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
