(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is urging everyone to put their safety as a priority after police investigated a collision.
On Thursday, July 5, 2018 at approximately 1:23 p.m., OPP, Norfolk County Fire and Rescue Services along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and Orng responded to a Bell Mill Side Road in Middleton for a collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that three (3) teenagers were riding on an ATV when the 15-year-old driver lost control and collided with a tree rolling the ATV. The driver was subsequently pinned under the vehicle until emergency personnel arrived on scene and extricated him.
As a result, the driver was air lifted by Ornge to a Toronto area hospital for further treatment for serious life-threatening injuries. A 14-year-old male passenger and 13-year-old female passenger were taken by ambulance to a local area hospital by paramedics to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Bell Mill Side Road was closed between Goshen Road and 3rd Concession Road NTR for several hours to allow for further police investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
