Police arrested a suspect after an elderly female was robbed as she exited a bank in Clarington.
On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of East Division were called to the RBC bank on King Street in Clarington for a robbery. An elderly female was exiting the bank after withdrawing a large sum of money. As she made her way to her vehicle, the suspect rammed his bicycle into her and a struggle ensued. The suspect took an envelope from the female's purse and knocked her down to the ground before fleeing on the bike.
The 71-year-old victim sustained some minor injuries during the robbery.
Police were able to identify the suspect and arrested him shortly after the incident. All of the money was recovered and will be returned to the victim.
Reno DILAURO, age 34, of King Street in Clarington is charged with Robbery. He was held for a bail hearing.
