(Ottawa)–At 11:15pm on Monday, July 9, 2018, Frontline officers were called to a collision involving a vehicle and cyclist at Bronson Avenue and Sunnyside Avenue. Information was that the cyclist was seriously injured.
Officers arrived on scene, finding only the injured cyclist and witnesses who remained on the scene of the collision. The 24 year old male cyclist was transported by Ottawa Paramedics with serious but non-life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital.
Loyan Mukhtar EID, (m) 26 years old of Ottawa turned himself in to police at approx. 1:30am on July 10th without incident.
He is charged with:
Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident Cause Bodily Harm (Criminal Code)
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm (Criminal Code)
Related Ontario Highway Traffic Act Offences
He was released with a future court date.
