(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY) On Saturday July the 14th, 2018, just before 9:00pm, Prince Edward County O.P.P. officers were conducting a RIDE program in the village of Consecon.
A vehicle with two occupants approached the RIDE location and the officer noted the odor of alcohol from the driver's breath and observed open alcohol in the vehicle.
A Roadside screening device was administered on which the driver registered a "fail". The driver was arrested and brought to the Prince Edward Detachment where she provided further samples of her breath into the Intoxilyzer which confirmed she had alcohol in her system in excess of the legal limit.
Kylie SHATTRAW age 22yrs of Ameliasburgh has been charged criminally with Impaired Operation and Operate Over 80mgs. SHATTRAW has also been charged with Driving Without a Seatbelt, Expired Validation Sticker and Having Open Alcohol in the Vehicle.
SHATTRAW will attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on August 01, 2018 to answer to the charges.
