(NORTH BAY, ON) - On July 11, 2018, at approximately 4:08 p.m., members of the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 11, near Cook Mills Road, in North Bay, Ontario. OPP stopped the motor vehicle on Chippewa Street, in North Bay, Ontario.
The 36-year-old male driver, Ryan ALKINS of Callander, Ontario, was arrested and charged for:
Drive while ability impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (C.C.), and
Fail or refuse to provide sample, contrary to section 254(5) of the C.C.,
Driving while disqualified - provincial suspension, contrary to section 259(4) of the C.C.,
Driving while under suspension (2 counts), contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45 days. The accused was released by way of Promise to Appear (PTA). He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 31, 2018, in North Bay, Ontario.
