(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 74-year-old female after investigating a two vehicle collision that sent four people to hospital at a Concession 12 Walpole, Hagersville, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Thursday July 19, 2018 at 4:21 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County paramedics responded to the intersection of Concession 12 Walpole and Haldimand Road 55 where a witness reported two vehicles collided and one of the occupants was trapped in a vehicle.
Haldimand County Fire Services extricated the 74-year-old female driver and paramedics transported her to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Haldimand County paramedics also transported a female and two young children from the other vehicle involved to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
OPP investigation has determined a passenger vehicle, being driven by the 74-year-old female, was travelling north bound on Haldimand Road 55 when it proceeded into the intersection and was struck by a passenger vehicle that was travelling west bound on Concession 12 Walpole.
OPP has charged the 74-year-old female from Brantford, Ontario with careless driving and failing to wear a seat belt under the Highway Traffic Act.
