(TOWN OF CARLETON PLACE, ON) - At 10:18pm on Saturday July 21, 2018 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an unwanted person at a Laundromat on High Street in the Town of Carleton Place.
The person in charge of the business reported that he was trying to close for the night and that a man had been sleeping there for the previous two hours.
The two officers spoke with the man who became aggressive and non-compliant.
William HUGHES (47 years) of the City of Ottawa is charged:
Two (2) Counts Assault a Peace Officer
One (1) Count Resist Peace Officer
Eight (8) Counts Fail to Comply With a Recognizance.
He was held in custody pending a Bail hearing at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.
