(Napanee, ON) - On July 20, 2018 Officers with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) to check for compliance on Highway 401.
Investigation revealed that the driver had not completed a daily inspection in two months. He was subsequently issued a provincial offence notice under the Highway Traffic Act and told he was out of service until the daily inspection was completed.
The same officer saw the driver driving his CMV a few minutes later Eastbound on Highway 401, Greater Napanee where he was subsequently stopped for a second time. The daily inspection was still not completed and the driver was subsequently charged a second time
Charged is 45 year old Ronald FAUTEUX of Kingston with two counts of Fail to complete daily inspection as per section 107(5) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
