(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On Monday July 23, 2018 at approximately 8:30 a.m., an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a blue sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 70 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 65 km/h.
21-year-old Bryan Jacob JOHN of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 5, 2018. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
