(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON) - On July 20, 2018, shortly after 10:00 a.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a mischief at a property at 22189 Highway 17 (the old McCoy's Motel) in the Village of Iron Bridge.
Investigation determined the mischief occurred between July 18, 2018 and the evening of July 19, 2018. At the property there were several vacant buildings that were observed to have spray-paint tags in pink paint and an empty can of orange paint that was left behind.
The estimated damage is $500.

TRAFFIC STOP-MALE CHARGED
(MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION, ON)- On July 21, 2018, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Highway 17 within the Territory of Mississauga First Nation.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Highway 17 and conducted a traffic stop. The officer requested from the driver his driver's licence, proof of registration and insurance. The driver surrendered an expired insurance card.
As a result of the investigation, Daniel SASSEVILLE, 28 years of age from Windsor, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Fail to Surrender Insurance Card, contrary to section 3(1) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
FAIL TO STOP-MALE CHARGED
(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On July 21, 2018, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m., police observed a vehicle travelling a high rate of speed. The officer activated the emergency lights on his cruiser to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle deescalated its speed, however, continued to drive westbound at approximately five kilometres per hour, failing to stop.
The vehicle finally came to a stop after travelling more than three kilometres at a set of temporary traffic lights in a construction zone on Highway 17 at Mississauga First Nation.
As a result of the investigation, Ferdous WAHID, 54 years of age, from Woodstock, Ontario, was issued two provincial offence notices and charged with:
Fail to Stop-Nearest Curb for Emergency Vehicle, contrary to section 159(1)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA); and with
Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the HTA.
